ABOUT ME:

    Edward Law is currently working for a well respected New Zealand Government connected organisation, working as a Business Support Administrator.

    He has created this simple "About Me" page on Blogger so that anyone who visits or links to it from his CV or LinkedIn for example can find out more about him than is covered by the CV and covering letter.

    Edward is both experienced in travel and tourism and in administration, having completed the National Certificate in Tourism and Travel (Core Skills), Level 3; The National Certificate in Travel, Level 3; and the National Certificate in Travel, Level 4 while a student at The Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) in Petone, New Zealand in 2005.

    Furthermore, he has continued his studies and professional development by obtaining the National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing at Level 2; the National Certificate in Computing at Level 2 and is currently studying with the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) via distance learning; The New Zealand Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety Management (Level 6).

    As you can see, Edward considers himself a 'forever student' as the only way you will grow yourself as a person and in your career is to keep learning and developing.  Therefore he will continue to grow and develop in any roles he holds and in his own time as required to be the best he can be.  He also believes this sets a great example for his family and colleagues.

In his career to date, Edward has worked as a:

• Lotto operator
• Junior Leisure Travel Consultant
• Corporate Business Travel Consultant
• Customer Service Experience Consultant
• Administration Officer to a Reserve Force Infantry Battalion
• Customer Service Agent for a Shared Services Delivery Group
• SAP User Support Specialist
• And currently as a Business Support Administrator

    As can be seen, these roles are all very hands on and dealing with people face to face, via the telephone, email or other methods.  Edward loves this type of interaction and loves to build rapport with people in and out of the workplace.

    As mentioned above, he is currently studying Health and Safety Management as a new challenge with a hope that he can grow and develop in this field or use the skills and knowledge gained for further study or to advance his career in other ways.

    Edward has learned from his years in the workplace that it is best to always treat people the way they should be expected to be treated and will actively call out any inappropriate behaviour as well as report and act upon any workplace bullying or safety issues noted in the workplace.  He also believes strongly that mindfulness in the workplace is key to success - a tenet he lives out through his interests in meditation, gardening and spending quality time with his wife, children, family and friends out of working hours.
